Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 small chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning (or salt, pepper, garlic powder)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)

Bread and Butter Mixture

  • 1 Italian style loaf
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic (or garlic paste, divided)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Sauce and Cheese

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare and cook chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into ½ inch pieces. Transfer them to a bowl, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and season with 1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning or a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken pieces until they turn golden brown and are cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Slice and prepare bread: Slice the Italian loaf lengthwise in half. In a small bowl, mix together 1 stick of melted butter, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, and 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.
  3. Toast the bread: Spread the prepared butter mixture evenly on both halves of the bread. Place them on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated 350°F oven for 5 to 10 minutes. Check at 5 minutes and continue toasting until golden and crisp but not burnt.
  4. Make the Alfredo sauce: Using the pan you cooked the chicken in, heat it over medium-low heat. Add 1/2 stick of butter and let it melt. Stir in 1 tablespoon minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Simmer sauce: Lower heat to low and add the heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and 1 tablespoon chopped parsley. Stir continuously and simmer on low for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  6. Assemble the bread: Spread half of the Alfredo sauce over the toasted bread halves. Top with cooked chicken pieces and sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese. Drizzle the remaining Alfredo sauce over the top.
  7. Bake to finish: Return the assembled bread to the oven and bake at 350°F for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Slice the garlic bread into 2-3 inch pieces and serve warm. Enjoy your indulgent Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread!

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the crushed red pepper flakes or add a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • You can substitute the Italian loaf with a French baguette if preferred.
  • Using fresh garlic gives the best flavor, but garlic paste works well for quicker prep.
  • Keep an eye on the bread while toasting to prevent burning.
  • This recipe is best served immediately for optimal texture and flavor.
