A quick and flavorful Sticky Garlic Chicken Noodles recipe combining tender chicken pieces coated in a sweet and savory garlic-ginger honey soy sauce, tossed with perfectly cooked noodles and garnished with green onions and sesame seeds for a delightful meal in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Chicken and Sauce

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Noodles and Garnish

  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes to create a flavorful sticky sauce base.
  2. Coat the Chicken: Toss the bite-sized chicken pieces with cornstarch until they are evenly coated, which will help create a crispy, sticky texture when cooked.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces and cook, stirring occasionally, until they turn golden brown and are cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  4. Add the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir well to coat all pieces evenly. Allow it to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
  5. Cook the Noodles: While the sauce simmers, cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  6. Toss Noodles with Chicken: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the sticky chicken and sauce. Toss thoroughly to combine all the ingredients and ensure the noodles are well coated.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the top for added flavor and presentation. Serve hot and enjoy your sticky garlic chicken noodles!

Notes

  • You can use either chicken breast or thighs depending on your preference; thighs will be juicier.
  • Adjust the amount of red chili flakes to control the heat level.
  • Rice noodles or egg noodles both work well; choose based on your taste.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free soy sauce and gluten-free noodles.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, add a teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with water towards the end and cook until it thickens.
