A quick and flavorful Simple Lemon Parmesan Pasta recipe that combines the zesty brightness of fresh lemon juice with rich Parmesan cheese and garlic-infused butter, perfect for a delicious weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 – 1 1/2 lemons (depending on taste)
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup reserved pasta water
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil Pasta: Start by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and the pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Be sure to reserve 3/4 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large pan over low to medium heat. Add the minced garlic cloves and sauté gently for a few minutes until soft and fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Once the pasta is cooked and drained, add it to the pan with the garlic butter. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice from 1 to 1 1/2 lemons depending on taste preferences, and the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together thoroughly to create a creamy sauce that coats the pasta evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with an extra squeeze of fresh lemon juice, additional Parmesan cheese if desired, and fresh parsley for color and flavor. Enjoy immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and melting quality.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice according to your preference for tartness.
  • Reserve pasta water is key to achieving a silky sauce consistency.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the creamy texture and fresh flavors at their best.
  • Add fresh parsley for a pop of color and extra freshness if desired.
