Ingredients

Remoulade Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup roasted red bell peppers
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup onion (finely diced)
  • 3 tablespoons creamy horseradish
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dill
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon Louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper

Cajun Breaded Shrimp

  • 10 shrimp (peeled & tails removed)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/3 cup flour

Pizza

  • 16 oz pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup corn meal
  • 1/4 cup remoulade sauce (prepared from above)
  • 3 tablespoons garlic butter (or salted butter, melted)
  • 1 zucchini (sliced thin)
  • 1/2 red onion (sliced thin)
  • 3 tablespoons sweet onion (finely diced)
  • 3 tablespoons capers
  • 16 oz mozzarella cheese ball (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded)
  • Dash of Louisiana hot sauce (for topping)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh dill (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup flour (for dusting)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Remoulade Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, roasted red bell peppers, minced garlic, finely diced onion, creamy horseradish, whole grain mustard, thyme, dill, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, Louisiana hot sauce, and white pepper until smooth. For a smoother texture, optionally blend in a food processor. Refrigerate any extra sauce for later use.
  2. Make Cajun Breaded Shrimp: In a small bowl, drizzle shrimp with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add Cajun seasoning, salt, white pepper, and flour. Stir well so the shrimp are evenly coated with a thick breading. Adjust olive oil or flour as needed to ensure coating is not sticky but has a thick layer.
  3. Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 425°F (220°C) so it’s ready for baking the pizza after preparation.
  4. Roll Out Dough: Dust a clean, flat surface with flour. Roll out the pizza dough to about half an inch thick. Sprinkle cornmeal on a pizza paddle or flat baking sheet, then transfer the rolled dough carefully onto it.
  5. Brush Dough and Spread Sauce: Generously brush the entire surface of the dough, edge to edge, with melted garlic butter. Then spread the prepared remoulade sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a quarter-inch around the edges clear to form a crust.
  6. Add Toppings: Arrange the Cajun breaded shrimp over the sauce evenly. Top with thinly sliced zucchini, red onion, finely diced sweet onion, capers, sliced mozzarella cheese, and shredded Parmesan cheese as desired.
  7. Bake Pizza: Place the pizza in the oven and bake at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the shrimp are cooked through.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove pizza from oven and sprinkle with a few dashes of Louisiana hot sauce and fresh dill. Serve immediately with plain Greek yogurt on the side for dipping, if desired. Enjoy your flavorful Po'Boy Pizza!

Notes

  • For an ultra-smooth remoulade sauce, use a food processor to blend all ingredients thoroughly.
  • If the shrimp breading is too wet or sticky, add more flour; if too dry, add more olive oil to achieve a thick coating.
  • Make sure to preheat the oven fully before baking to ensure a crispy crust.
  • You can substitute the shrimp with fried oysters or chicken for a different take on the Po'Boy flavor.
  • Serve with side salads or fries for a complete meal.
