A quick and refreshing Iced Matcha Latte made with vibrant matcha green tea powder whisked with hot water, chilled, then combined with your choice of milk over ice for a delicious and energizing beverage.

Ingredients

Matcha Mixture

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 cup warm water

To Serve

  • Ice
  • Milk of choice (e.g., almond milk)
  • Simple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the matcha paste: In a measuring cup or bowl, add the matcha powder. Pour in 1 to 2 tablespoons of hot water and whisk vigorously until the matcha is fully incorporated and forms a smooth paste.
  2. Add warm water and chill: Pour in the remaining 1 cup of warm water, stir to combine, then transfer the mixture to the fridge or freezer to chill for about 15 minutes, allowing the matcha to cool completely.
  3. Assemble the latte: Fill two glasses with ice, then add your preferred milk so that the glass is about three-quarters full. If desired, add simple syrup for sweetness. Finally, pour in the chilled matcha mixture and stir well to combine before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of hot water to create a thicker or thinner matcha paste based on your preference.
  • Use any milk you prefer, such as almond, soy, oat, or dairy milk.
  • Add simple syrup or sweetener to taste if you want a sweeter latte.
  • For a stronger matcha flavor, use slightly more matcha powder.
  • Chilling the matcha mixture ensures a refreshing iced drink without dilution.
