Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal, these kebabs offer a delicious combination of smoky char and juicy, tender meat with vibrant veggies.

Ingredients

Marinade and Meat

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

Vegetables

  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 orange bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces

Other

  • 8 metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper until well combined. This marinade will infuse the steak cubes with rich flavor and help keep them juicy while grilling.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Add the cubed sirloin steak to the marinade and toss well to coat all the pieces evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 1 hour, allowing the flavors to penetrate the meat deeply.
  3. Assemble the Kebabs: After marinating, thread the steak cubes onto the metal skewers, alternating with pieces of red, orange, and green bell peppers and red onion. This layering adds vibrant color and complementary flavors to each bite.
  4. Grill the Kebabs: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the assembled kebabs on the grill and cook them, turning often, for about 12 to 15 minutes. Grill until all sides of the steak are well browned and the vegetables have softened but remain slightly crisp.
  5. Serve: Remove kebabs from the grill and serve immediately while hot. These kebabs pair well with rice, salad, or grilled bread for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before using to prevent burning if metal skewers are unavailable.
  • For extra flavor, add herbs like rosemary or thyme to the marinade.
  • Allow meat to come to room temperature before grilling for more even cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure steak reaches your preferred doneness; medium rare is about 130-135°F.
  • Reserve some marinade before adding raw meat to brush on kebabs during grilling for extra moisture and flavor.
