Ingredients

Pasta and Chicken

  • 1 pound rotini pasta (cooked and drained, save 1 cup of cooking water for casserole)
  • 3 cups cooked chicken (diced or shredded)

Sauces and Cheese

  • 2 (15-ounce) jars Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup garlic Parmesan sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup pasta water (optional, reserved from cooking pasta)

Seasonings and Garnish

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well, reserving 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then set the pasta aside.
  3. Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked rotini pasta, diced or shredded cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, garlic Parmesan sauce, half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to your taste.
  4. Mix thoroughly: Stir all the ingredients together until fully combined. If the mixture feels too thick or dry, slowly add up to 1/2 cup of the reserved pasta water to achieve a saucy consistency suitable for baking.
  5. Assemble the casserole: Pour the combined pasta and sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly so it cooks uniformly.
  6. Add cheese topping: Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the pasta mixture to create a cheesy crust when baked.
  7. Bake the pasta: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
  8. Garnish and serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • Reserve pasta water to help adjust the sauce consistency if it becomes too thick.
  • Use cooked chicken from rotisserie, leftovers, or quickly pan-sauteed chicken breast for ease.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or garlic powder to the sauce mixture.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat well before serving.
  • This recipe easily doubles for larger crowds and also freezes well for future meals.
