Garlic Butter Steak Bites are succulent, bite-sized pieces of steak seared to perfection in a skillet and tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce. This quick and easy recipe delivers a flavorful, tender steak dish perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Steak Bites

  • ½ tablespoon avocado oil
  • 2 pounds steak, cut into small bite-size pieces
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • Green onion, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the Steak: In a bowl, season the bite-sized steak pieces with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to ensure each piece is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  2. Sear the Steak Bites: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the avocado oil. Once hot, arrange the steak bites in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the steak browns nicely. Depending on your skillet size, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding. Remove the browned steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Garlic: Remove any excess water from the skillet to avoid steaming. Add the butter or ghee to the hot skillet and then add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant and golden, taking care not to burn it.
  4. Combine and Finish: Return the steak bites to the skillet, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to coat the steak evenly in the rich garlic butter sauce. Remove from heat, stir in the chopped parsley for freshness and garnish with green onion. Serve immediately while hot for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the red pepper flakes to your preference.
  • Use high-quality steak cuts such as sirloin or ribeye for best flavor and tenderness.
  • Make sure the skillet is hot enough before adding steak to get a good sear.
  • Cook steak in batches if needed to avoid crowding, which can cause steaming instead of browning.
  • Butter can be substituted with ghee for a richer flavor and higher smoke point.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
