Ingredients

Base

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup milk (of choice)
  • ¼ cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener (honey or maple syrup)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt

Fruits

  • ¼ cup strawberries, diced
  • ¼ cup apples, diced
  • ½ banana, sliced
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Nuts and Seeds

  • 2 tablespoons peanuts, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon pecans, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon hazelnuts, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon almonds, chopped

Sweet and Flavor Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon Nutella
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips (additional)
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup (multiple mentions)
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (multiple mentions)

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: Place all the base ingredients—rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, sweetener, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt—into a large glass container. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly, ensuring oats are fully soaked and the mixture is uniform.
  2. Refrigerate Overnight: Cover the glass container securely with a lid or plastic wrap. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, but ideally overnight, to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquids and soften into a creamy texture. You can add the nuts, fruits, and other toppings either the night before or immediately before serving, based on preference.
  3. Serve and Enjoy: The next day, uncover the oats and stir gently. You may thin the mixture with a little more milk or water if you prefer a looser consistency. Serve directly from the container or transfer to a bowl. Add any additional toppings like fresh fruits, nuts, syrups, or chocolate chips as desired.

Notes

  • Use any milk of your choice—dairy or plant-based alternatives work well.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar.
  • Customize toppings based on seasonal fruits and personal preferences.
  • For added texture, reserve some nuts and chocolate chips to sprinkle on top just before serving.
  • Overnight oats can be stored refrigerated for up to 3 days.
