Ingredients

Liquids

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy milk (or cow milk/nut milk)

Fruits & Vegetables

  • 1 red delicious apple
  • 1 cup kale or spinach

Flavorings & Add-ins

  • 1 tsp agave (or honey)
  • 1 scoop pea-based protein powder (or any unflavored or vanilla protein powder)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (adjust more if protein powder has strong flavor)
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Others

  • 8 ice cubes
  • Chopped pecans, walnuts, or coconut for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add all the ingredients except the ice cubes and nuts to the blender. Layer the ingredients in the order given to ensure faster blending.
  2. Blend Thoroughly: Blend the mixture for 1 full minute to achieve a smooth and creamy texture, even if it looks blended sooner.
  3. Add Ice and Blend Again: Add the 8 ice cubes to the blender and blend for an additional 30 seconds to chill and slightly thicken the smoothie.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass, top with chopped pecans, walnuts, or coconut as garnish, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use any leafy greens of your choice; spinach is milder while kale has a stronger flavor.
  • You can substitute pea-based protein powder with any preferred unflavored or vanilla protein powder.
  • If the protein powder flavor is strong, feel free to increase the cinnamon to balance taste.
  • For a thinner consistency, add a little more water or milk before blending.
  • This recipe is easily doubled or tripled if making for more servings.
