This Easy Cinnamon Grilled Pineapple recipe combines sweet, buttery, and warmly spiced flavors with the smoky char from the grill. Perfect as a quick dessert or a delicious side, grilling pineapple enhances its natural sweetness while adding a caramelized texture. Served warm, it pairs beautifully with ice cream or whipped cream for a satisfying treat.

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 1 Pineapple

Spiced Butter Mixture

  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter (Melted)
  • 1/8 Tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill or grill pan to medium heat and spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Pineapple: Remove the top and bottom of the pineapple. Slice it in half through the core, then carefully peel off the skin. Remove the core from each half, then slice each half into four spears for a total of eight pineapple sticks.
  3. Make the Cinnamon Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, sea salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  4. Coat the Pineapple: Place the pineapple spears in a shallow bowl or plate and generously coat all sides with the cinnamon butter mixture. Reserve any extra butter sauce for serving.
  5. Grill the Pineapple: Place the coated pineapple spears on the preheated grill. Grill each side for 4-5 minutes until a good char develops and the pineapple becomes soft and caramelized.
  6. Serve Warm: Remove the pineapple from the grill using tongs. Serve warm, optionally drizzled with the reserved cinnamon butter sauce, alongside ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent finish.

Notes

  • You can substitute brown sugar with coconut sugar for a different caramel note.
  • If you don't have a grill, a grill pan on the stovetop works well to get those lovely char marks.
  • For a vegan version, replace butter with coconut oil or a plant-based butter alternative.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to enhance the sweetness and creaminess.
  • Use a ripe pineapple for the best natural sweetness and tenderness.
