This Dubai Chocolate Strawberries recipe combines crispy kataifi pastry with rich pistachio butter, smooth tahini, and melted chocolate, layered beautifully with fresh strawberries. It offers a delightful Mediterranean-inspired dessert that's easy to assemble and perfect for a sweet treat or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Kataifi Filling

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces kataifi shredded dough, chopped
  • 1 cup pistachio butter (or pistachio cream)
  • 2 tablespoons tahini (optional)

Chocolate Mixture

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Fruit and Garnish

  • 1 ½ pounds strawberries, halved
  • Ground pistachios (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Kataifi Filling: Melt the unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped kataifi dough and cook, stirring constantly, until the kataifi is browned and crispy, about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat, stir in pistachio butter and tahini (if using), then allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Assemble Dessert: In four clear 12-ounce serving cups, place eight strawberry halves each at the bottom. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of melted chocolate to fill the gaps between the strawberries. Add about 3 tablespoons of the kataifi filling on top. Repeat by adding another layer of strawberry halves near the top of each cup, followed by kataifi filling, more melted chocolate drizzle, and a sprinkle of ground pistachios for garnish.
  4. Set and Serve: Enjoy the dessert immediately or refrigerate for about 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set and firm up for a more chilled treat.

Notes

  • For an extra nutty flavor, use freshly ground pistachios for garnish.
  • The tahini is optional but adds a subtle creaminess and depth of flavor.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best melting and taste.
  • Chilling the dessert helps the chocolate set nicely, but it can also be enjoyed immediately for a soft, melty texture.
  • Kataifi dough should be fresh and moist; if frozen, thaw before use.
