Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried dates (soaked in water)
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp raw honey

Instructions

  1. Soak Dates: Soak the dried dates in warm water for about 5 minutes to soften them. Drain the water thoroughly once soaked.
  2. Blend Dates: Place the soaked dates in a blender or food processor and blitz until they form a smooth, sticky paste.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Measure out rolled oats, cocoa powder, chia seeds, dark chocolate chips, natural peanut butter, and raw honey and mix them thoroughly with the blitzed dates. The mixture should be firm and tacky but not wet.
  4. Form Balls: Using your hands, roll the mixture into small bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Chill: Place the formed balls on a plate or tray and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to set firmly.

Notes

  • For softer balls, soak the dates a bit longer or add a splash of water when blending.
  • Use gluten-free oats to make this recipe gluten free.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or any nut butter of your choice.
  • Store the date balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt for a flavor contrast if desired.
