This creamy and indulgent Crockpot Hot Chocolate recipe is the perfect cozy drink to warm you up during chilly days. Made with sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla, and a blend of whole milk, half & half, and flavored coffee creamer, it delivers rich chocolate flavor without much fuss. Prepared in a slow cooker, it requires minimal effort and is ideal for serving a crowd, offering a smooth, velvety texture topped off with mini marshmallows for that classic hot chocolate experience.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Milk & Cream

  • 12 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup half & half
  • 1 cup coffee creamer (any favorite flavor works)

Seasoning & Toppings

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix Base Ingredients: In the bottom of a cold crockpot, whisk together 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract until you achieve a smooth, homogenous mixture with no lumps.
  2. Add Milks and Salt: Gradually whisk in 12 cups of whole milk, 1 cup of half & half, and 1 cup of your preferred flavored coffee creamer. Be sure to scrape the sides of the crockpot to incorporate all the ingredients evenly. Stir in 1 teaspoon of salt to enhance the chocolate flavor.
  3. Warm the Hot Chocolate: Cover the crockpot and heat on high for 2 hours, or on low for 4 hours. This process is just to warm the mixture through gently, not to cook it. Once the desired temperature is reached, switch the crockpot to the ‘warm’ or low heat setting to maintain temperature without scorching.
  4. Serve and Garnish: When ready to serve, stir in 1 cup of mini marshmallows if desired, or sprinkle them on top of individual servings. Optionally, add extra coffee creamer for a personalized touch and richer taste.

  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and gently reheat on low in the crockpot or stovetop, stirring frequently.
