Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (sheet or rolls, seams pressed together)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1½ tablespoons ground cinnamon

Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1–2 teaspoons milk (add only as needed for consistency)

Finishing

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 10-12 inch round pizza pan or baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate clean-up.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the prepared pan. If using crescent rolls, press all the seams together to create one solid sheet. Gently stretch and press the dough into a round shape approximately 10-11 inches in diameter. Lightly roll or fold the outer edge inward to form a raised crust border that holds the toppings.
  3. Brush with Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and vanilla extract. Using a pastry brush, evenly brush this mixture over the entire surface of the dough, including the raised crust edge, to enhance flavor and promote browning during baking.
  4. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a separate small bowl, mix together the light brown sugar and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
  5. Sprinkle Topping: Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the dough, covering the entire surface but not the crust border to keep it crisp.
  6. Bake Crust: Place the assembled dough into the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the topping is bubbly.
  7. Prepare Frosting: While the crust bakes, prepare the vanilla cream cheese frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue mixing. Add the vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of milk and mix until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Add more milk if needed, a few drops at a time.
  8. Frost the Pizza: Remove the baked crust from the oven and allow it to cool slightly for 5 minutes. Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the warm crust, avoiding the crust edge if you want it to remain crispy.
  9. Dust with Powdered Sugar: Lightly dust the top of the dessert pizza with powdered sugar for a beautiful finishing touch.
  10. Serve: Slice into 6 pieces and serve warm or at room temperature for a delicious sweet treat.

Notes

  • For a crunchier crust, bake a couple of minutes longer watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • You can substitute light brown sugar with granulated sugar mixed with molasses for a deeper flavor.
  • Add chopped nuts or raisins to the cinnamon sugar topping for extra texture and taste.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer frosting, or reduced-fat for a lighter option.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat briefly before serving.
