Ingredients

Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.4-ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping, thawed

Other Ingredients

  • 1 box graham crackers
  • 1 can dark chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Prepare pudding mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until fully smooth and thickened. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until the mixture is evenly combined and creamy.
  2. First layer assembly: Line the bottom of a 9-inch by 13-inch pan with a single layer of graham crackers, breaking pieces as needed to cover the surface completely. Pour half of the pudding mixture over the graham crackers and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  3. Second layer assembly: Add another full layer of graham crackers on top of the pudding layer. Pour the remaining pudding mixture over this second cracker layer and spread it out evenly. Then top with a third layer of graham crackers, fully covering the pudding.
  4. Top with frosting: Carefully spread the can of dark chocolate frosting evenly over the top layer of graham crackers, smoothing it gently to cover the entire surface.
  5. Chill and serve: Cover the pan with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld. Serve chilled directly from the refrigerator and keep any leftovers covered in the fridge.

Notes

  • Use instant vanilla pudding mix for quick preparation without cooking.
  • Thawed whipped topping creates a light, airy texture in the pudding layer.
  • Dark chocolate frosting adds a rich, sweet finish but can be substituted with homemade chocolate ganache if preferred.
  • For best results, do not skip chilling time; it helps soften the graham crackers and meld flavors perfectly.
  • This dessert is best stored refrigerated and consumed within 3-4 days.
