Choose from three convenient cooking methods—air frying, pan-frying, or oven-baking—to suit your preference. Served with a zesty Cajun mayo dipping sauce, these bites are bursting with flavor and ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Salmon Bites

  • 1 lb skinless salmon fillet (uniform thickness, skin removed if present)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Optional: salt (if your Cajun seasoning is unsalted)

Dipping Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (freshly squeezed, about 1 wedge)
  • ¼ teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Salmon: Cut the salmon fillet into even 1 to 1.5-inch cubes, removing the skin if still attached. Aim for uniform pieces for even cooking.
  2. Season the Salmon: In a medium bowl, combine the salmon cubes with 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly, using your hands if needed, to ensure every piece is fully coated.
  3. Prepare the Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, lime juice, and ¼ teaspoon Cajun seasoning. Adjust seasoning and lime juice to taste. Set aside.
  4. Cook with Your Chosen Method: Select one of the following cooking methods:
    1. Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F if required. Arrange the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer on the air fryer tray. Cook for 5-6 minutes or until the salmon is opaque and cooked through.
    2. Pan-Fry: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Place the salmon bites in the pan and cook for 2 minutes on one side. Flip carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through. Remove promptly to avoid overcooking.
    3. Oven Bake: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or lightly oil the surface. Spread the salmon cubes evenly and bake for approximately 10 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Serve: Serve the salmon bites immediately, warm from cooking, with the prepared Cajun mayo dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Ensure the salmon fillet is of even thickness to promote uniform cooking.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning quantities to your preferred spice level.
  • If your Cajun seasoning blend is salt-free, add salt to taste when seasoning the salmon or the dipping sauce.
  • Cooked salmon bites are best eaten immediately for optimal texture and flavor.
