This 3-Ingredient Lazy Lasagna is a quick and easy twist on traditional lasagna, perfect for busy weeknights. Using store-bought ravioli, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese, it layers flavors effortlessly in one dish, baking until bubbly and golden for a comforting, crowd-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

Lasagna Layers

  • 1 lb store-bought ravioli (spinach and ricotta recommended, but beef or other flavors work too)
  • 750 mL jarred marinara sauce (3 cups)
  • 3 cups grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 450ºF (232ºC) to ensure it's hot enough to cook the lasagna evenly and melt the cheese beautifully.
  2. Layer the lasagna: Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce evenly in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle a handful of mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Arrange a layer of ravioli side by side without gaps. Spoon 1 cup of marinara sauce over the ravioli, then sprinkle another handful of cheese. Repeat with another layer of ravioli and sauce, and finish by topping with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  3. Bake covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to trap steam and moisture. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, allowing the layers to heat through and the flavors to meld.
  4. Finish baking uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese on top is golden and bubbly, and the internal temperature of the dish reaches 165ºF (74ºC), ensuring it's fully cooked and safe to eat.

Notes

  • You can use any type of ravioli, but spinach and ricotta add a creamy texture and mild flavor that complements the sauce and cheese well.
  • Make sure to cover the dish with foil during the first part of baking to prevent the top from drying out.
  • Check the internal temperature with a food thermometer to guarantee the dish is thoroughly heated.
  • Let the lasagna rest for 5-10 minutes after baking before serving to allow it to set and make serving easier.
  • This recipe lends itself well to customization—add herbs or different cheeses if desired.
